Swiss Re opened the doors of its new headquarters at 30 St Mary Axe to the media this week. Touted as the first green building in London - its energy-saving ventilation system is claimed to reduce energy consumption by 50% - the "gherkin" boasts 11,000 tonnes of structural steel and 24,000 square metres of glass. And a fantastic, yet no doubt expensive, view. The restaurant is shown above.
