Following our quest to discover who will be the next chairman of Lloyd's, a member of chatroom onelimestreet.com has come up with a new candidate.

The Name claims Stephen Byers could head up the insurance market. Why? "Because he will likely be available, he has experience in taking away the rights of investors, he knows how to deal with businesses that cannot possibly make a profit, he has no problem working with layers of spin doctors and he believes that Lloyd's is a very ethical place to work (following several years of serving in the Cabinet)."

And following Monday's admission that the railway has performed worse because of his decision to intervene, Byers could also be available in the near future.
