The rise of Duncan Boyle to the top UK job for Royal & SunAlliance has been meteoric. Just five years ago, he was running the Australian operation in charge of 3,000 staff. Now it's 17,000.
Is he phased? "No, but I would have liked an extra couple of years in charge of the commercial lines business," said Boyle. Is that because he wanted some more experience?
"No, it's because I wanted to bask in the glory of the good results that are coming. Now Peter Webster's going to get it," he joked.
