Benfield Group is backing Dan Dare. It has created the finance package for a new 26-part animation series featuring the classic Eagle Comic cartoon character.
The $18m (£12.7m) project has been 100% financed through Benfield Greig Entertainment Finance (BGEF), the division of the group which specialises in the insurance of bank gap finance.
BGEF focuses on UK production companies for both film and television.
