Towergate Partnership has announced the acquisition of Northampton-based Smith Wingell & Co.
It brings the total premium controlled by Towergate Partnership's group to £1.25bn.
Towergate said Smith Wingell & Co currently places £1.5m of commercial and personal lines business in the market. The company will retain its current staff of five, led by founding partners Trevor Wingell and Steve Smith.
Smith Wingell & Co will be integrated with existing Northampton broker FG Watts Risk Solutions, which was acquired by Towergate in July 2004.
