The Towergate Partnership has acquired Maidstone-based Marine & General, which currently manages a £1.2m portfolio of pleasure craft and related marine commercial covers.
Andy Homer, Towergate chief executive, said: "Our marine operation has performed well and this acquisition gives us an opportunity to strengthen our presence in this sector."
The acquisition is Towergate's 108th, bringing a total gross written premium managed by the group to just over £1.25bn.
