Zurich Risk Engineering has won a £2m two-year contract to provide health and safety training to UK gas pipeline company Transco.

Zurich will provide training and consultancy to 14,000 Transco employees across the UK, after fierce competition among 40 companies to win the contract.

Risk services manager Phil Moore said Zurich was delighted by the contact.

“Training of this nature is of critical importance to all institutions and our years of experience in the health and safety field make us ideal for the job in hand,” he said.

Transco's training and development manager Tony Moloney said Zurich had performed best overall on the contract selection criteria, including previous experience and ability to resource and mobilise.
