Travel insurer Club Direct has launched a series of special discounts for travel insurance on Valentine's Day trips.
Club Direct said the scheme, which can be used for short trips to Europe or the US in either February or March, offered savings of around 45% on normal insurance rates.
Club Direct managing director Brent Escott said: "Short trips to places such as New York and Paris are becoming very popular.
"A few days relaxing in a foreign city is a perfect Valentine's treat, and prices for flights or short packages are extremely attractive at the moment."
For the USA, the promotion provides a couple with full insurance cover for £16.50, £21.45 or £26.40 for 2, 3 or 4 days travel. In Europe, travel insurance for two people is £5.50, £9.90 or £15.95 for 2, 3 or 4 days.
Cover of £10m for medical and emergency assistance is included in all Club Direct policies, with full repatriation and air ambulance support.
Policies are also backed by a full range of cover for things such as baggage, money, missed departure and cancellation, and they include worldwide 24-hour a day access to Club Direct's multi-lingual medical assistance hotline.
