The Treasury Committee is to undertake an inquiry into the implications for theTreasury policy of climate change and the Stern review, following the publication of Sir Nicholas Stern's review of The Economics of Climate Change on 30 October.
The committee expects this inquiry to get underway early in the new year. Full terms of reference for the inquiry will be issued following the publication of the 2006 Pre-Budget Report, which the Chancellor is expected to deliver to the House of Commons on 6 December.
