It has been brought to our attention that an article (`Company director quits Trenwick', Insurance Times, 28 February) may have given the impression that Trenwick International and Joanne Merrick supported the position taken by the Insurance Insider and Peter Hastie in the defamation action brought against them by Russell English and James Trusselle.
For the avoidance of doubt, neither Trenwick nor Joanne Merrick supported any of the parties to the defamation action and any impression to the contrary given by our article was unintended.
