The New York attorney general's probe into the US insurance industry has reached the UK.
Alea is the first UK-listed insurer to announce that it has received a subpoena from Eliot Spitzer.
Its US subsidiary Alea North America Insurance Company said it had also been subpoenaed by US regulatory departments.
