Underwriting agency UK General has signed a travel insurance deal which will be underwritten with in-house capacity from its Irish business.

It has signed a distribution deal with Irish travel insurance broker Accident & General Insurance Services.

The broker provides travel insurance through its network of travel agents and tour operators in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and parts of the UK.

Accident & General director Tom Duffy said: “We are delighted to have entered into a partnership with UK General.

“Their ability to proactively adapt to the demanding needs of the travel industry is testament to their commitment in this sector.

UK General personal lines sales director Paul Everett said: “A&G, already a major player in the Irish market, is embarking on an ambitious growth plan and is trusting UK General as its insurance partner to help take the business forward.

“We were able to deliver the deal within six weeks, which is a level of responsiveness we know is important to A&G and this type of business is in line with our own growth strategy, using UK General’s Ireland-based capacity for writing European business.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
