US insurance companies will come under closer scrutiny as state regulators prepare to follow the New York attorney general's crackdown on bid rigging and contingent commissions.
Reports said state regulators were getting ready to make coordinated moves that could force US companies to make incentive commissions more transparent.
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners said: “All of the insurance commissioners want to get involved, especially those who have companies doing business in the states.
“Most feel there is something they can do to monitor these companies.”
