David Wallace, the IT and ecommerce manager of the Personal Insurances Division of Zurich Financial Services, is retiring at the end of October after completing 40 years' service with the group.
The group has yet to appoint a replacement.
Wallace joined Zurich in June 1960, straight from school at the Belfast office where he eventually became responsible for claims handling in the Province.
In 1985 he took charge of electronic trading and in this role he represented Zurich within a small group of pioneering insurers who worked under the Brokernet umbrella.
Following completion of the merger between Zurich and British American Financial Services (BAFS) in September 1998, David was appointed to his present position within the personal insurances business.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
