Allianz in Lockton deal

Allianz Engineering has announced a deal to provide Lockton’s computer covers on an exclusive basis. The three-year deal will generate over £1.5m in premium.

Syndicate launched

Barbican, a new £75m capacity syndicate, has been launched. The venture is supported by two US private investment funds, Steel Partners II, and funds managed by Carlson Capital, as well as from senior members of Barbican’s management team, Whittington and Kinmont Advisory. The syndicate, which is led by ex-QBE active underwriter Mark Harrington, has obtained approval in principle from the Lloyd’s Franchise Board to begin underwriting next year.

New Countrywide firms

The Countrywide network has added five new members controlling £35m in premium in the last five weeks. In a statement the company said the additions were the result of newly-launched facilities, particularly in commercial lines.

Heath’s thermal package

Heath Lambert has launched a new commercial insurance package for companies which are members of the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association, which represents companies involved in industrial hot and cold insulation.

CCV acquires two

CCV has made two further acquisitions after the recent acquisition of Ipswich-based Morgan Law. DP Insurance Consultants, specialising in household and property owners business, has been added to CCV’s Cheltenham operation and delivers a GWP approaching £1m.
