Webline, part of the Capita Group plc, is diversifying by providing the infrastructure to source building and contents insurance with first4cover, the web-enabled general insurance quotation system.

The service will give Webline's 15,000 users access to competitive rates and live quotes from first4cover's buildings and contents insurance products.

Webline made the decision to expand and provide the technology to source Buildings and Contents insurance after their user forum in June this year where they announced they would invest £250,000 into future developments of the company.

The addition of first4cover allows Webline users an accelerated guaranteed quotation process on a range of buildings and contents insurance for both residential and let properties, family legal protection and home emergency cover, the division said.

The integration incorporates real-time messaging, allowing intermediaries to generate guaranteed quotes after minimal questioning and without the need to re-enter customer data.

Head of Service Strategy at Webline, Adam Byford welcomed the addition of first4cover to their product panel. He said: “Many of our users expressed a keen interest in us expanding our product coverage from Life, Pensions and Investments. In particular we have had a number of requests for the addition of buildings and contents cover. first4cover offers something different in this market and I am confident that our users will find this new ‘quote and buy' service simple to use and very valuable”.

first4cover is the web-enabled general insurance quotation system recently launched by Equity Insurance Group (Equity) to support the intermediary market.
