Wellington Underwriting Agencies has announced the promotion of Huw Jones to divisional underwriter responsible for the energy account.
Jones, previously divisional underwriter for energy liability, has been promoted to divisional underwriter for the whole energy account at Wellington which will embrace both property and liability underwriting.
With 17 years of industry experience, Jones joined Wellington in December 2005 and was previously employed at the Catlin syndicate where he was responsible for the energy account. The energy division's gross premium written in 2006 is estimated to be $315m gross.
Commenting on the appointment, Tim Burrows, chief underwriting officer and head of the energy division, said: “I am delighted to promote Huw within the Energy team. Since his arrival at Wellington, Huw has been instrumental in growing the energy liability account and bought strong market experience to our business and enhanced the reputation of the syndicate.”
