Wellington will reduce its capacity for Syndicate 2020 to £660m from £730m for the 2006 year of account.
It said a substantial part of the reduction was the result of the weaker dollar rate.
The plan is subject to acceptance by the Lloyd's franchise performance directorate, it said.
