A recent car fraud case caused the downfall of a sophisticated conman. Ade Abiola was arrested in the act of obtaining property by deception.
Police were able to identify him after Claims Management and Adjusting's Philip Swift alerted them to a motor insurance fraud involving Abiola, who was using the alias Paul Marvin Butler.
Abiola was deported, but not before police learned his real identity and that he had been deported before. On his second sojourn, he used two different dates of birth, four phone numbers and two addresses.
Despite these anomalies, he was able to obtain money by deception from 17 different financial institutions before he was caught.
