A revamped motor legal expenses policy which provides rehabilitation for whiplash victims has helped add more than 200 brokers in just two months to the client base of Angel Assistance and Countrywide Assistance.
The legal expenses insurers, both subsidiaries of the Helphire Group, have aggressively marketed their motor products by setting up a new broker support team.
Since the introduction of the 23-strong support team in July, more than 200 brokers have signed agency agreements with Angel and Countrywide.
The insurers' motor policies now offer both car drivers and motorcyclists fully-funded physical therapy for personal injury through the company's own network of therapists.
"It should help drive claims costs down because whiplash victims will recover quicker," said marketing manager Angela Law.
"We think it is a first in the insurance industry."
Brokers are put in touch with the broker support team by a regional sales manager as soon as they sign a contract.
A team member will then call in at each broker's office every six to eight weeks to bring staff up to date with the latest products.
Brokers will also be able to reach their allocated team member by mobile phone at any time to ask for help.
Prior to this sales initiative, the insurers had a total of 650 brokers selling motor legal expenses insurance and 340 selling household legal expenses insurance.
