Total Broker Solutions (TBS), the new compliance network to be headed up by outgoing Biba chief executive Mike Williams, has recruited six brokers to help test its concept.

Bob Beckett, who will chair the network, said that the brokers, who cannot be named due to confidentiality agreements, will act as test sites to help TBS refine its compliance offering to brokers.

Beckett said that in order to find a solution that will work for a range of different brokers, the development brokers range in size from £500,000 to £2.5m in fee and commission income, differ in business mix and are in different locations across the UK, with three in the North and three in the South. "If we can get something that fits all of them we should be able to help most brokers," Beckett said.

He said that the network has attracted interest from "hundreds" of brokers, and is still on schedule to launch this Autumn, with Williams to take up his position with TBS on 15 September.

Meanwhile, Beckett's company, The Beckett Group, is currently in acquisition talks with two regional brokers. Beckett said he was hoping to complete one acquisition by the end of August and the other in October.
