Widows of policemen and fire-fighters who died in the World Trade Centre attacks will receive payouts in the region of £1.5m, the Daily Mirror reported today.

Family members such as parents and siblings will also receive payouts. These will be less than those for widows, but are still thought to be more than £700,000.

It is thought the money will come from insurance companies, government and pension funds, as well as a large proportion coming from charities.
