Xchanging has created a single management body to oversee its London market businesses.

The back office service provider's new Xchanging London Market Executive controls Xchanging Ins-sure Services (XIS) and Xchanging Claims Services
(XCS).

The businesses previously had separate management structures. XIS managing director John Benjamin stepped down and will not be replaced. The new management body is headed by Clive Buesnel with Michael Taylor as vice-chairman.

Taylor did not expect further significant staffing changes and said the changes were designed to improve service delivery and customer service.

He said: "There are opportunities for operational cost avoidance but our main focus is on customer service and making sure that our major initiatives are carefully managed from an integrated point of view."

Further integration between the businesses would be a matter for shareholders.

He said: "It falls short of a move to a closer integration. That‚s something that shareholders will have to review over time."

XIS is jointly owned by Xchanging with Lloyd's and the IUA, which hold 25%each. In XIS, Peter George becomes chief operating officer from his former post as
head of operations. David Andrews remains chief executive.

In XCS, Steven Beard becomes chief operating officer from his former post as head of operations and Clive Buesnel remains managing director.
