Outsourcing group Xchanging has launched what it calls the "claims office of the future" at Lloyd's. The company claims the new system could generate savings of £1.5bn annually for the UK non-life market

Xchanging said the system would allow full on-line tracking and reporting of claims.

Under the new system, claims will be separated into two different services depending on their complexity; the Lean Service is for low complexity claims across all classes of business, and the Professional Service is for complex claims requiring specialist knowledge.

Ascot Underwriting has already signed up to the new Xchanging claims system.
