Ruby Wax cracked open the bubbly for Zurich Personal Insurances this week when the insurer held an Oscar-style ceremony for the staff's success at the 2001 Insurance Industry Awards.
She was the genuine star guest at the bash for 600 staff at the Bournemouth International Centre.
Staff arrived in true Oscars style and were greeted by screaming crowds, paparazzi photographers and a host of lookalike celebrities, including Jack Nicholson, Posh and Becks, Hannibal and Nicholas Cage.
Ruby Wax entertained the Zurich crowd with a stand-up act followed by a ceremony where teams were presented with special trophies.
Max Todd, market development manager, said: "The Insurance Times awards are extremely important to Zurich. This is the first large-scale ceremony we have held to reward our staff so we wanted to make it special. Everyone received an award – it was difficult to cover all the achievements in one night!"
