A Zurich-backed online database has been launched in a bid to ensure policyholders are properly insured.
mylifesafe.com, which is backed by Zurich Financial Services, has been developed by data specialist, Greig InfoSafe, to keep customer records safe.
The website is divided into a home contents inventory and personal information section.
Spokesperson Mick Furie said: "In the event of a "disaster" such as a house fire or burglary, many people would find it difficult to retrieve the necessary information to get them back to normal.
"Valuable personal information and even records of possessions can be damaged in such circumstances, adding unnecessary delay and distress."
