Zurich has teamed up with the police and the Youth Justice Board to crack down on vehicle crime.

Developed by the Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Zurich is sponsoring a roadshow, which aims to highlight the consequences of stealing cars.

By use of a hard-hitting video and teaching pack, the roadshow plans to raise awareness among teenagers in schools and young offenders institutes nationwide.

Ian Owen managing director of Zurich's UK personal insurance division said: "Vehicle theft costs the industry £563m each year and as a major insurer, we have a vested interest in helping to reduce this problem.

"Having seen the roadshow and its incredible power in positively influencing young people to walk away from car crime, I am very proud Zurich is supporting this initiative."
