Zurich has claimed it is now the market leader in the solicitors professional indemnity (PI) market.
It said today that figures released by the Law Society's Assigned Risk Pool show that Zurich Professional is the number one provider of PI to solicitors in England and Wales.
Andrew Darby, head of PI at the Law Society, said: "The total solicitors market, measured by premium income, has increased by 36% in the past year. Solicitors paid over £225m in premium for the compulsory layer, although this total is still less than in each of the final three years of the Solicitors Indemnity Fund"
