Zurich Financial Services has sold 100% of its direct equity investment of £63m in Endurance Specialty Insurance, Bermuda, to Endurance Specialty Holdings, the holding company of Endurance Specialty Insurance.

The proceeds of the transaction were £63m. The Zurich investment was made as part of the initial capitalization of Endurance on December 14, 2001.

Head of the Global Asset Business Division and Zurich's Chief Investment Officer David Wasserman said: "The sale of our interest in Endurance is in line with our intention to reduce our exposure to equity investments.

"This frees up risk-based capital that will be redeployed in core operations promising sustainable and profitable growth."

Endurance Specialty Holdings is a global provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance. The company commenced operations at the end of 2001.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
