Risk management and insurance solutions provider, Zurich Municipal, has welcomed the government's call for the development of a "risk standard".
The government's Strategy Unit's report concluded recently that the development of a risk standard would ensure best practice within industry service delivery.
The report also highlighted that the application of risk management techniques had not been integrated into decision making at the highest level.
Guy Munnoch, managing director of Zurich Municipal, said: "We welcome the government's call for the development of a risk management standard.
"The authors of this report are right to highlight the increasing reliance on partnerships with other private, public and voluntary sector organisations to deliver public services, and the implications of this for risk management.
"Without a risk standard, there is always the danger that the grey areas created by increasingly diverse networks of accountability and liability for the delivery of public services will lead to risks being inadequately managed."
