AIG UK has recruited former Willis boss Tom Colraine as chief operating officer.

Colraine will report direct to AIG chief executive Lex Baugh.

Baugh said: “Tom joins at a crucial time as we work towards rebranding as Chartis UK. He will play a key role in improving our operational efficiency, risk control, capital efficiency and transparency.”

Colraine qualified as a chartered accountant at KPMG before joining Willis Group where held a number of positions including Chief Financial Officer and latterly Chief Operating Officer. He joined the AIG UK Board in December 2007.

Colraine said: “I’m really looking forward to my new role because the prospects for Chartis, as a truly global insurance network offering high quality risk management, have never been better. It’s exciting for me and I’m sure for all at Chartis.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
