This year’s exclusive ranking of UK and Gibraltar regulated general insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates is now available – has your firm made the cut?
Insurance Times has today (10 October 2025) launched the 2025 edition of its much-anticipated Top 50 Insurers report, revealing which UK and Gibraltar regulated general insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates have succeeded in profitably growing gross written premium (GWP) over the last 12 months.
This annual report – available exclusively for Insurance Times subscribers and produced in partnership with market intelligence firm Insurance DataLab – provides the most comprehensive ranking of the biggest and best general insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates operating in the UK general insurance marketplace, listing firms by GWP size.
Company profiles within the report include organisation GWP and combined operating ratio figures, management and strategy roundups, as well as a debrief of broker feedback based on Insurance Times’ exclusive Five Star Rating Report: Commercial and Personal Lines 2024/25.
Insurance DataLab has additionally provided its proprietary underwriting score for each insurer too, giving further insight into firms’ performance year-on-year.
Matt Scott, Insurance DataLab co-founder, has further provided a number of trend-based articles, showcasing additional data points and aggregated findings that offer a detailed picture of the UK general insurance market today.
