Employee under investigation following sexist email that was forwarded across the country

Miller is investigating an employee involved in a sexist email exchange with his friend which was forwarded across the country.

Miller employee Sebastian Marsh is currently off work while the London broker investigates the email exchange with his friend, property consultant Harry Fildes.

The spokesman said: “We cannot condone anything that goes around of that nature, therefore we have an electronic communications policy, and as all companies do, we need to assess it against that policy.”

Marsh sent an email to Fildes on Wednesday last week, asking whether it was okay to pursue his ex-girlfriend for a relationship.

The email quickly descends into sexist language and the Fildes expresses his dislike for his ex-girlfriend.

Marsh asks for the ex-girlfriend’s email address, and Fildes sends the email address, but accidentally copying in the ex-girlfriend.

A copy of the email was later forwarded across the City and has subsequently appeared in the national media.

Both individuals were using their company internet servers when exchanging the emails.
