Man had motor insurance complaint

A man blocked the entrance to the car park of Aviva's York office with a digger yesterday over a motor insurance complaint.

The man, who denied he was protesting, was given a verbal warning by North Yorkshire police for obstructing traffic for two hours outside the insurer's Monks Cross office.

Aviva told CityWire that the man was protesting about a motor insurance complaint that is being considered by the Financial Ombudsman Service.
