Former IAG UK chief reports to Maurice Tulloch

Aviva has appointed Ian Foy to the newly created role of managing director of personal motor, home and specialist lines.

Foy joined Aviva last week and reports to UK and Ireland general insurance (GI) chief executive Maurice Tulloch.

Foy was previously group chief executive of IAG’s UK operations, including Equity Insurance Group, Barnett & Barnett and NBJ, which were sold at the end of 2012.

He will be charged with growing Aviva’s personal home and motor propositions, and building a speciality lines business.

Steve Treloar continues as managing director of UK Direct, with additional responsibilities for building a direct digital business with both GI and life products.

Tulloch said: “Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Aviva and undoubtedly he will add significant strength to my leadership team as we grow and develop our personal lines business in 2014.

“His credentials are widely recognised across the insurance industry and his arrival – following soon after the appointment of Colm Holmes as CFO for Aviva UK&I GI – again underlines Aviva’s ability to attract outstanding talent.”

Foy said: “Aviva has a great reputation in the market and I am delighted to be joining such a strong leadership team.”
