Digital distributor launches new academy to offer career development opportunities

BGL Group has launched a new academy to offer career development opportunities.

The BGL Academy was launched on Monday 5 March and will include a new apprenticeship scheme which will open the doors for more than 200 roles across its UK network.

It will also adopt BGL’s graduate scheme which, in the five years since its launch, has trained over 50 people in a variety of roles.

Another scheme to be brought in under BGL’s department for emerging talent is the Business Pathway programme for A-level school leavers, which offers apprentices the opportunity to gain an overview of the business.

Matthew Donaldson, chief executive of BGL Group commented: “The launch of the BGL Academy is a great example of our commitment to people development and our aim of making BGL a great place to work.

”The Academy will play to the strength of our data, digital, brand and marketing capabilities and will allow us to share our expertise in these areas with talented people to develop the industry professionals of the future.

“I look forward to meeting the people who join our programme and seeing them develop their career here at BGL.”

The news comes during National Apprenticeship Week, which runs this week from 5 to 9 March.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
