The insurance industry is awash with rumours of acquisitions and sales ?– if you’re not being bought then you’re buying someone else.

The latest in a growing list of potential takeover targets is Lark Group – acquisitors themselves just months ago.

The company, as expected, has denied all knowledge of approaches from the likes of Groupama.

But Backchat spies have un-earthed what is thought to be a reassuring statement to all staff that does little to quell “market rumours”.

Apparently an email from Lark’s senior management is being circulated to staff referring to “discussions with potential investors about their interest in supporting us for the future”.

It adds that “nothing has been agreed” at present.

Funny things these “market rumours”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
