DAS is taking legal action against former chief executive Paul Asplin.

A notice at the High Court lists the case as DAS UK Holdings Ltd and Others versus Asplin and others.

Insurance Times understands that the case is to do with Asplin’s conduct in the company, which did not affect clients or the business.

Asplin, who was suspended from his role in October 2014, was replaced by Andrew Burke in February 2015.

Asplin had been suspended following an internal investigation.

Accounting firm Ernst and Young was subsequently hired to conduct an investigation into the relationship between the firm and a supplier that DAS no longer worked with.

Insurer DAS had a turbulent 2015, with a raft of senior executives leaving the company.

In October chief operations officer Paul Timmins left the company. Prior to that, the former head of legal services Kathryn Mortimer left in April.

Group after the event and special risks manager Phil Bellamy, head of sales Lyndon Willshire, group human resources manager Jo Boichot and group financial controller Paul Borrill also exited the company in 2015.

DAS declined to comment.
