Bluedrop Services started eBroker for PowerPlace this week

The first broker to sell SME insurance using a white-labelled portal from Open GI on its website has gone live this week.

Bluedrop Services now quotes and sells property owners and liability insurance online using eBroker for Powerplace and will begin a marketing campaign to promote the new service this week.

Managing director Doug Kelley said: “We receive a lot of leads over the phone and do direct marketing, but we felt it was important to have an internet presence for the commercial leads.

“We’ve always had a good service from PowerPlace. We looked at the eBroker system and felt it delivered an end-to-end solution with documentation for us and the customer.”

Bluedrop will call customers after selling policies online to make sure they bought the right cover and ask if they were happy with the process.

Open GI sales and marketing director Simon Hughes said: “The benefit that Bluedrop will receive by diversifying and adopting this latest technology – eBroker for PowerPlace – will allow them to cater for so many more SMEs that currently trade online.”
