Doctor Dolittle...

I run a zoo at home – three dogs (one Cairn Terrier, one working Cocker Spaniel and one Bichon Frise), one cat, two guinea pigs, two Chinese hamsters and one five foot python called Merlin. Oh, and two kids and one wife (the zookeeper!)

Big Trekkie...

I admit that I’m a bit of a sci-fi nut and have seen every episode of Star Trek across all different series. Original; Next Generation; Deep Space Nine; Voyager; Enterprise. A little known fact is that one person has been in all of the series. She played Number One in the pilot, the nurse in the original first series, Deanna Troi’s mother, Lwaxana in a number of episodes and finally the voice of the ship’s computers in the remainder. She was in fact the creator Gene Roddenberry’s wife – Majel Barret-Roddenberry. So now you know…

Beat that...

My one moment of sporting greatness was many years ago at the Silverstone indoor karting circuit where I managed to break the lap record. This was held at the time held by none other than F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella. I should also point out that I weighed about five stone less than I do now.

Ice Ice Baby...

I’m now rather ashamed to admit that when I was younger I was a keen ice skater and attended ballet classes for a while in an attempt to emulate the great John Curry and Robin Cousins. Sadly, I fell on my backside a bit too often.

Family tree...

My children are descendants of a 19th century Prime Minister via my wife's family.
