Hyperion is in talks to buy Lloyd’s broker Windsor Partners Limited.

A Hyperion spokesman said: “Hyperion confirms that it has entered into discussions with Windsor Limited regarding a potential offer for the Company.

“However, these discussions are at an early stage. A further update will be provided as and when appropriate.”

Windsor has six offices in the UK providing coverage to clients in sectors such as sports, diving, cargo, equine, law, media, pharmaceuticals and renewable energy. It is also a reinsurance broker.

Windsor delisted following a £33.7m management buyout in 2007. The firm’s chief executive is John Bennett. Hyperion aims to make acquisitions to bolster its business prior to an initial public offering.
