Keith Syrett and Philip Thomas have formed Thames Underwriting

Keith Syrett and Philip Thomas, the two founders of Giles-owned underwriting agency Ink, have left to form a new company, Insurance Times can reveal.

The pair have created Thames Underwriting Ltd, which will write general liability in contractors and manufacturing, professional indemnity and excess of loss, and is targeting £3m GWP in the first year.

Thomas told Insurance Times that the agency, which is backed by a capacity provider with a top tier debt rating, would not compete with Ink.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
