Marsh UK commercial and consumer chief executive Julie Page will leave early next year after 17 years at the broker.

The news follows a restructuring triggered by Marsh’s acquisition of UK commercial broker Jelf. The acquisition was completed at the beginning of December.

Under the new structure, Marsh’s networks and affinities units, along with recently-acquired broker SME Insurance Services, will transfer to Jelf.

These businesses made up a large part of Page’s commercial and consumer division.

Marsh UK and Ireland chief executive Mark Weil said: “Julie has been with Marsh for 17 years and has led our C&C business for the last seven.

“She has done a great job in nurturing those businesses over that time and in helping to make our acquisition of Jelf a success.

“She has shown absolute dedication to her business and people throughout and I wish her all the best in the next stage of her career.”

Page added: “Marsh is a great company and I have enjoyed my time there, working with many high-calibre colleagues to build the business.

“Now feels like the right time to move onto the next stage in my career and I’m much looking forward to it.”

Along with the Jelf restructure, Marsh also revealed yesterday that Phil Barton would succeed Alex Alway as Jelf chief executive. Alway will become a non-executive director of Marsh’s main UK regulated entity Marsh Ltd.
