Loss adjuster opens City office.

Merlin Professional Claims Services has opened a London office.

The loss adjuster said the move was part of its strategy of delivering a truly nationwide claims management operation.

The office will be headed by Graham Cranford Smith, a former director of Carr Greenwood Smith (CGS).

Merlin Professional Claims Services was formed from the merger of loss adjusting businesses AMG, Carr Greenwood Smith and Sigma Claims Solutions.

Richard Webster, chief executive of Merlin Professional Claims Services said: "A London office is a significant step and signals our serious commitment to get even closer to the London markets. Graham has exactly the credentials we need having been a founding partner of commercial and major loss adjusters CGS. He is well known in the London Market with an excellent reputation and we are delighted to have him leading our London office."

Cranford Smith said: "I am extremely excited to be leading Merlin into this new period of growth. London is an interesting market and crucial to our expansion plans. Our clients will benefit greatly from our new office location and it will enable us to attract new business.

"Merlin has a very credible London market offering and having a base in the City will help us service existing clients as well as being able to promote our expertise to the wider insurance community."
