Insurer strengthens UK regional presence

Mitsui Sumitomo at Lloyd’s has made five hires to its corporate, mid-market and regional distribution teams as part of its expansion drive.

Clive Rogers, has been appointed as a casualty underwriter (corporate). He was previously a casualty manager at CNA. Joining him is Teresa Barrett as a property underwriter (corporate). She was previously manager, property department at Allianz Global Risks. Gudrun Leisse, previously manager of the general international property portfolio at CV Starr Tech, Starr Underwriting Agents Ltd (Lloyd's) has also been appointed as a property underwriter (corporate).

Michelle Cole has joined Mitsui as a mid-market London underwriter. She was previously senior underwriter, London region, at Fusion Insurance Services.

In addition, Michael Turvey has been appointed regional underwriter, Manchester. He joins from Liberty Insurance Company where, as regional casualty manager, he worked closely with brokers across the north-west, Yorkshire, East Midlands and the north-east.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
