Ping! An email arrives in Backchat’s inbox, headed rather intriguingly, “Britain’s got talent”.
Clicking on the attached picture reveals a scene somewhat reminiscent of the Rolling Stones circa 2007, albeit featuring Harrogate rock gods Grant Ellis, boss of Broker Network, and Paul Meehan, the erstwhile chief of Smart & Cook.
Ellis, wearing a rather jazzy shirt, looks engrossed in the riffs, while Meehan belts out the vocals.
It is clearly not a recent gig, as there is no AXA or Towergate branding to be seen.
But it is perhaps an indication of what Meehan’s next career move might be?
The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
