Bob Ewers to lead UK and Irish based operations

AXA Assistance has promoted Bob Ewers to chief executive for its UK and Irish based operations.

Ewers is taking over form Jesus Carmona who has been appointed chief executive of AXA Assistance’s global travel business.

Ewers is tasked with building profitable growth within the UK & Ireland businesses.

He joined AXA Assistance in 2008 and most recently held the role as deputy chief executive, primarily focussed on its motor business. He was previously group strategy director for AXA UK. Prior to joining AXA, Bob was with London & Edinburgh as Director of its Commercial business operations and has over 20 years experience working in the financial services sector.

Ewers said: "AXA Assistance has a solid foundation from which to grow. Developing new sales growth whilst maintaining the high standard of service our customers expect will be the focus of the business for next year."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
