Berkeley Alexander has launched a buildings and/or contents insurance, called Portfolio.

The policy features:

  • a contents sum insured of £35,000. The premium is based on the number of bedrooms, up to five
  • an introductory no claim discount for up to three years for new clients (without previous claims)
  • one month's cover free of charge (The premium is based on 12 months' cover for the cost of 11)
  • telephone claims reporting to allow customers to receive immediate attention
  • a web-based quotation service to allow agents 24-hour access to product information and quotes
  • free links to an agent's website (this will allow clients to obtain their own quotes 24 hours a day).

    Premiums can be paid interest-free by 11 monthly direct debits, or by a single cheque or credit card payment.

    Berkeley Alexander pays 20% commission to agents on all business both new and renewal together with free sales training and advice on the implications of the General Insurance Standards Council.
