’It’s a strong example of how we’re using digital trading to make our products available to more businesses,’ says head

Allianz UK has entered into a delegated authority agreement with digital insurance broker Superscript to provide capacity for commercial insurance products aimed at small businesses, landlords and tradespeople.

Under the partnership, Allianz will provide underwriting capacity for Superscript’s landlord and tradespeople propositions as the firms look to make commercial insurance easier to access digitally.

Customers will purchase cover through a dual-branded online journey, combining Superscript’s digital broking platform with Allianz’s underwriting expertise and capacity.

Josh Linden, head of digital distribution at Allianz UK, said: “Small businesses want insurance that is straightforward, accessible and built around how they operate. Working with Superscript allows us to combine a modern digital buying experience with Allianz’s underwriting and claims expertise, giving customers a simpler way to access quality commercial cover.

“It’s a strong example of how we’re using digital trading to make our products available to more businesses, through the right partners and in the right way.”

Agreement

The agreement will see Allianz take responsibility for managing claims on policies written through the partnership.

Superscript will provide the first notification of loss process, giving policyholders a digital route to report claims before they are handled by Allianz’s claims operation.

Tori Butler, managing director of SME insurance at Superscript, said: “We’re excited to be working with Allianz to support more small businesses and landlords across the UK.

“By combining trusted and competitive cover with Superscript’s award-winning digital broking capabilities, customers can access competitive insurance in minutes, with the flexibility to buy and manage their cover online.

“This collaboration marks another important step in our ambition to become the UK’s leading SME insurance distributor, making it easier for businesses to understand their insurance needs and choose the cover that works for them.”
