Arch Insurance International has appointed Tim Chapman as its new head of construction.
Chapman, who has taken up the role with immediate effect, will be responsible for developing Arch’s construction portfolio and building out the company’s open-market offering.
Based in London, he will report to Jake Gibbs, head of marine, energy and construction.
Lino Leoni, chief underwriting officer for short tail lines at Arch, said: “We see significant opportunity for growth in the sector and are pleased to be expanding our product offering to better serve our clients.
“Chapman’s appointment is an important step in establishing Arch as a leader in this space.”
Experience
Chapman brings over 25 years of experience in underwriting large-scale infrastructure projects.

He joins Arch from SCOR, where he was previously global segment leader for civil works and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) head of construction.
Prior to this, he was a senior engineering underwriter at Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
